Welcome to Herb Gardeners of Montgomery County. Our club presents a variety of programs on culinary, horticultural, medicinal, crafting and historical uses of herbs. The level of herbal knowledge of our group ranges from enthusiastic novices to seasoned master gardeners and commercial growers. The Herb Gardeners are dedicated to promoting the knowledge, use and delight of herbs through sharing the experience of its members with the community. Any person interested in growing, using or studying herbs is invited to join.
For more information contact: Camille Fisher, President
The membership dues are used to pay modest fees for our guest speakers, to purchase plant materials for our demonstration herb gardens and to purchase herb related books which are donated to the county libraries. Herb Gardeners have planted a demonstration herb garden outside the South Branch Library for the enjoyment and education of the community. Also, the Community Center gardens are maintained by the club. Herb Gardeners participates in the annual Earth Day celebration in April and Landscapers Solutions in October. In February 2009, the Herb Gardeners will be hosting a tea and herbal fair at The Community Center. Further information about the event will follow.
Annual Membership Dues
Annual membership dues of $25 are collected each March. The calendar year runs from March through February.
Regular Meetings
Regular meetings are held the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the South Branch Library, 2101 Lake Robbbins Drive (beside the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion), in The Woodlands. An herb related program is presented at each meeting, refreshments are provided, and a brief business meeting of the membership usually follows.
Also, each month members have an opportunity to attend day meetings relating to herb topics. Day meetings are held on varying monthly schedules; including field trips to nearby nurseries, tours of members' gardens, a craft project workday, or a pot-luck herbal luncheon.
